      I’ve come to think of Kansas City theater as a long, epic journey. My experience with the theater community goes back to 1990. The first show I saw as critic and theater reporter was “Of Mice and Men” at what was then Missouri Repertory Theatre. Two stalwarts of the local acting community, Jim Birdsall and Gary Neal Johnson, filled the roles of the childlike Lennie and his reluctant keeper, George.
