I just wanted to call and applaud your Guantanamo series (6/15-17, A-1). This is one of the best pieces of investigative journalism I’ve seen in years. It shined a light on one of the darkest hours in our history.

I can’t get over the front-page picture of the bus riders, the most unhappy group of people I’ve ever laid eyes on (6/23, A-1, “It’s a traffic jam aboard buses”). When I used to ride the bus, we had parties, played cards and just had a ball on the bus. They all look like they’re going to a funeral. No wonder no one wants to ride it.
